Since adding the Adult Beginner classes to the Hernando
Parks program, I discovered there are alot of Men & women in
Hernando that would like to get back into tennis or learn
and have fun with a group of friends. So I came up
with my own program for adults & children
Tennis your way.
There are plenty of adult beginner leagues also Junior ones that I can help you get involved with if you wish.
Junior Tennis
By following the 10 and under Tennis, established by the USTA, the shorter nets and smaller racquets and balls enable children 10 and under to learn tennis in an easier, more fun way. Scaling down the game enables children to feel overjoyed, instead of overwhelmed and provides them with the confidence and ability to cover the entire court.
Court – Mini nets are 18′ long and 2.9″ tall, allowing 3-8 Year olds Proper play.
Racquets – For children 9 and under, 19″, 21″, or 23″ racquets are used. Youth racquets are required not only for safety reasons, but to also teach students to learn how to control their shot.
Balls – We use a mix of foam and low-compression balls depending on the activity. The reason for the foam or low-compression is that they move slower and bounce lower, giving students more time to track the movement of the ball and set up for the shot.
